After your slow morning, we head to the mountains to explore. You stand hand-in-hand, surrounded by sweeping green valleys and majestic mountains that rise dramatically against the sky. Soft sunlight breaks through the clouds, casting a warm glow on your intimate ceremony, where heartfelt vows ripple through the stillness of the landscape. A gentle breeze carries the scent of wildflowers as you share your first kiss as a married couple, framed by the rugged beauty that surrounds them. Once we are done exploring the mountains, we head to the picturesque town to really soak in the Scottish atmosphere. On the way, we pause on the rain-soaked street to watch sheep amble across the road. After exchanging vows amid stunning landscapes and spending the day exploring the mountains, we end up unwinding in a cozy local pub. Surrounded by friendly locals and the soothing sound of folk music, the evening culminates in a perfect blend of love, laughter, and the enchanting spirit of Scotland.

The mountains in Scotland are dramatic, dramatic, wild, and perfect for an elopement day. I adore wandering around the trails during a foggy sunrise and finding hidden waterfalls in the spring, catching the leaves changing over the mountains and having picnics surrounded by wildflowers.
Between the mountain cabins, artsy shops, forest trails, scenic drives, and amazing restaurants, I truly believe that the Scottish Highlands are the perfect place to elope.
Where to Elope in the Highlands
Picking where you want to elope in the Scottish Highlands is one of the most fun and intimidating things to do when planning your day. Thankfully, I have explored all over and am thrilled to help you pick to best spot for you.
Skye
The Isle of Skye is rugged, wild, and filled to the brim with perfect locations to say you vows. Skye is the ideal spot if you want to explore a few different locations and then end the day dining in a restaurant serving local cuisine.
Glencoe
If you are picturing fog covered, tumbling green mountains, Glencoe is definitely an area to consider. This area is filled with waterfalls, windy roads, and plenty of hikes that lead you into the mountains.
Cliffs
When I think about Scotland, I picture dramatic, windy cliffs on the sea with your wedding dress flowing out behind you and your wind whipping around.

Julia shot our elopement in Scotland and it was a dream from start to finish. We braved the Scottish weather and together we had such a memorable experience!!

We ended our elopement warming up in front of a fire, in a local pub, pint in hand with some great food. The day of I woke up to a goofy yet empowering text from Julia expressing how excited she was to capture that day. She just has a way with her clients that makes you feel as if everything that day is going to be ok. She came prepared with anything a bride could need: water, snacks, hair pins, and for my glasses wearing brides you will appreciate that she even had a cleaning cloth which was a life saver!
We have had so many photo watching parties just the two of us and every time we cry because her work put us back to the exact moment it was taken.
