Eve and Callum's Elopement in the Scottish Highlands
I don’t think that I am ever going to find a place in this world that speaks to me the way that the wild mountains in Scotland do. For someone who grew up in the flat plains of the midwest and dreamt of getting lost in untouched places like the Scottish Highlands, Eve and Callum’s stunning elopement in the mountains of the Scottish Highlands was an absolute dream.
I met up with Eve and Callum at the trailhead for our hike at the Three Sisters’ Overlook and knew that it was going to be a fun day when Eve stepped out in her wellies and said that she was going for the full Scottish experience. Even though it was windy and rainy (typical Scottish weather) Eve and Callum were so excited to get going and find the perfect place to say their vows. I was sure that the weather was going to be against us, but just as we started our hike the rain stopped and little rays of sunshine started to peak their way through the clouds. It was a good thing that Eve wore her wellies, though, because we had a blast jumping over (and into) puddles along our entire hike.
We spent the next several hours exploring the highlands, traversing rivers, marveling at waterfalls, and having an absolute blast. When Eve and Callum finally found the perfect place to say their vows, it was a perfect, intimate moment with not another soul around. This is one of my favorite things about Scotland. Even though it was the busy season, with just a little bit of exploring and wandering, you can find a beautiful, secluded spot to call your own.
Once we made it back from our hike, we found our way to a local pub where we had a few pints, ate some amazing food, and got warm by the fire.
This Scottish Highlands elopement was such an amazing day!
