Naples, Italy: A Slow Sunset on the Italian Coast
By the time Sophie’s sunset photoshoot in Naples rolled around, she had been traveling through Italy for almost two weeks. Drinking wine and wandering through museums in Florence, riding on horseback through the vineyards of Siena, taking bike tours, and scoping out the best goods in leather markets. It had been a trip that was energetic, fulfilling, and jam packed with activities. However, by the end of the trip, it was time to wind down a bit and embrace the lazy moments that her body was craving.
We had originally planned to pop around Naples, drink some espresso, eat delicious pizza, and have an active photoshoot that captured her exploring the beautiful Italian town. But, when we started discussing plans, I could tell that Sophie was exhausted. We decided to pivot and dragged her comforter, a bottle of wine, some local produce, her journal, and her book up to the stunning rooftop and embraced the slower, more tranquil energy that I could feel she was really desiring.
Sophie spent the next hour journaling about her travel experience, reading a romance novel, and soaking up the sun while enjoying the view of Naples and the Tyrrhenian Sea. We were capturing the slower, gorgeous, decadent moments that sometimes get overlooked during a vacation. Having this flexibility to switch up the shoot allowed Sophie to be more comfortable and at peace with what her body wanted at that moment. She was able to sink into the shoot when an energetic, active shoot would have just felt draining. Embracing this shift allowed us to capture Sophie in her element, living her best life on the coast of Naples, Italy.
