Ten Hours in Paris
One of the beautiful things about flying to Europe through Paris is, if you have along enough layover, you can sneak in quick adventure in the city. With Notre Dame being just a quick half hour train ride from the airport, it’s incredibly easy to wander the Louvre, stroll along the Siene, pop into a quaint bookstore, and enjoy a croissant before hopping back on a plane and jetting off to your final destination.
On my way to Florence, I had the option of a 5 hour or 10 hour layover in Paris and I was in the mood to experience the city of lights in the fall. With just 10 hours to take in everything that I could, I watched the final details of the restoration of Notre Dame being completed, sat and read in Shakespeare and Company, walked along the Siene while sipping on an incredible hot chocolate, ate some crepes, and spent some time exploring the Louvre. Sometimes, long layovers are nothing but exhausting, but this ten hours in Paris was a perfect escape to break up my travels.
