Kimberly and Logan: A North Carolina Castle Wedding

After my very first video call with Kim and Logan, I knew that their wedding was going to be filled with fun, love, and a ton of unique touches. Kim and Logan’s wedding in a castle in North Carolina was exactly that. Leading up to their big day, Kim was insistent that she wanted the wedding to reflect who her and Logan are as a couple; quirky, fun, and filled to the brim with love.

I first got to experience Kim and Logan’s relationship when we met up on the North Carolina coast for their engagement photo session. I love getting to have an engagement session with a couple before I capture their wedding for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason is that I truly cherish the relationships that I build with my clients and spending time getting to know each other during a shoot before the wedding allows me to really feel like I am capturing their full relationship and what they mean to each other. During their engagement shoot, I learned that Kim is a bit spooky (in the best way possible), doesn’t hold back when she laughs, and loves with her whole heart. Logan is a bit more soft spoken but clearly finds a crazy amount of joy in making Kim smile. I think I will always be a little bit obsessed with the way that Logan looks at Kimberly. I left their engagement session feeling confident that I understood who they were as a couple and couldn’t wait to capture one of the biggest days in their relationship.

When I showed up to Chateau de Fleures, Kim was relaxed, joking around with her makeup artist, and sipping on champagne. After Kim had her maid-of-honor and mom help her into her dress, she had a touching first look with her dad on the balcony of the suite that she was getting ready in. First looks with parents always make me tear up and this one was no exception.

After an emotional first look with Kim’s dad, it was time for a first look with Logan. We set up at the edge of a stunning pool filled with turquoise water and surrounded by sculptures and greenery. The whole thing was giving Italian countryside vibes. Logan’s reaction to seeing Kim in her stunning wedding dress for the first time was magical. He was choked up at first and then couldn’t stop telling her how beautiful she looked.

Some people think that having a first look is going to make the moment you see your partner walking down the aisle less special. That was not the case for Kim and Logan. Kim beamed as she walked down the aisle on her dad’s arm and Logan got choked up all over again.

The rest of the wedding was just as special with Kim and Logan twirling around with choreographed moves for their first dance, a party that went well into the night, and a sparkler exit. One of my favorite moments of the night was when Kim, Brandi (Kim’s best friend and maid of honor), and I snuck upstairs for some champagne and silly photos lounging in the tub.

When I look back at Kim and Logan’s wedding in a castle in North Carolina, the first thing that I think about is how much love I got to witness. It truly was a magnificent day.
